Hello & Welcome
Prior to Christmas in December 2023, St Mary's was awarded £1.57m by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, towards The Way Forward project. This grant was made possible thanks to National Lottery players.
With over ten years in the making, the project saw a major internal restoration of our Grade 1 listed "heritage at risk" building, and is now delivering an exciting activity programme for the whole community. The Way Forward project will preserve and restore St Mary’s and leave a legacy for the next hundred years and beyond.
The renovation part of the project began in October 2024 and completed in early 2026, with the church reopening on 29th March 2026.
