The Way Forward Project

The Stebbing church community spent several years considering the complex issues surrounding the preservation of this medieval place of worship, whilst ensuring the building continues to serve the needs of the community now and into the future.

The Way Forward Project is the name given to the ambitious programme to restore and revitalise St Mary’s. It encompasses both the renovation of the church and the wide range of activities designed to bring people together and make greater use of the building. The project team has worked, and continues to work, to deliver not only the restoration, but also the wider vision that has been at the heart of the project from the outset: creating a welcoming, sustainable community hub for Stebbing and the surrounding area.
