Off to a flying start

What a start it has been! Following our reopening on 29th March and a hugely successful activity day on Easter Saturday the following week, St Mary’s has already been buzzing with life. Our recent history talk drew a fantastic audience, and it’s been wonderful to see so many people through the doors again. With the café now open on Mondays and Tuesdays, the building is quickly settling into a new rhythm, one filled with conversation, community and connection.
We have plenty more to look forward to, with three upcoming events and even more being planned for the summer months. Our first Games Night takes place on 21st April, followed by our first concert in the newly restored space on 25th April which is sure to be a memorable evening. Click here for tickets. Our Springtime Spectacular also returns this year and, building on last year’s inaugural event, will feature even more activities. Some will take place inside the church, with others out in the field, just as before. Click here for more information.
Why not pop in for a cuppa or a wander around? Over the coming months, you’ll begin to see more of our interpretation installations, helping to tell the story of this remarkable building — from the intriguing Staircase to Nowhere to the 16th-century wall painting. There will also be new displays in the churchyard, all forming part of the ongoing restoration journey.
